Aleksander Okraska

Consultant

With nearly two decades of experience in the supply chain, Aleksander held roles ranging from Logistics Manager to Supply Chain Manager, and even Production Manager.

Aleksander understands the challenges that arise when different departments within a company pursue divergent objectives, often impacting the expected levels of customer service and timely deliveries. This becomes particularly evident when production prioritizes process optimization and cost reduction without closely aligning with planning efforts.

Addressing issues such as rising logistic costs, delivery shortages, and declining customer service levels with company owners facilitated swift and effective solutions. The greatest challenge often lay in convincing Production Directors that minimizing production costs per unit does not necessarily align with the company’s broader strategic objectives across European markets.

Whilst working with a construction company, Aleksander found himself confronted by the boss’s inquiry: despite operating on a made-to-order basis with a historically high influx of orders, the warehouse was full of products, causing customer anxiety due to prolonged delivery times.

It was necessary to overhaul the production planning and scheduling principles already in place, resulting in a substantial reduction in finished product inventory alongside heightened customer service levels. The pivotal approach involved looking beyond internal processes, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of what their customers really wanted.

Aleksander has encountered and overcome the complexities when collaborating with suppliers worldwide, highlighting the crucial role of extended lead times in balancing inventory levels and customer service. In this scenario, the primary obstacle was ensuring effective communication of demand information across sales channels.

Recognizing that even the most advanced system relies heavily on the quality of its underlying data (‘Show me the data’), Aleksander spearheaded the re-engineering of logistics processes. As a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Manager , he coordinated numerous optimization projects, introducing innovative solutions, processes, and products.

With experience leading teams of varying sizes, from small units to groups of several hundred individuals, Aleksander consistently observed the pivotal role of motivation and skill development within the workforce – from frontline workers to management. He is a firm believer that the effectiveness of a diverse chain hinges on the experience and motivation of its individual links.

Currently, Aleksander shares his wealth of experience and knowledge through training sessions and implementations conducted by MPM Productivity Management. His expertise spans various domains including SCM, Production Management, Internal Material Flows, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lean Manufacturing.
