Professional experience before becoming a consultant:
For many years, Tomasz has overseen supply chain management in companies spanning various industries.
He gained insight into supply chain management processes within the detergent and cosmetics production sector at Unilever. Also, establishing the Procurement and Logistics Department at Wrigley from the ground up.
During his tenure at Kompania Piwowarska, he orchestrated the production and distribution of beer, and procured components for the entire SABMiller Group across Europe. At US Pharmacia, he oversaw the planning, procurement, warehousing, and physical distribution of pharmaceuticals. He managed the procurement of components for bus and railway seat production at KIEL company. Additionally, he served as the Head of Purchasing for Europe at Firestone.
Tomasz understands the critical importance of a stable long-term plan for the company's success. Having implemented the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process in three separate companies, he effectively mitigated risks such as stock shortages or production capacity constraints.
Tomasz is well-versed in the protocols of operating within international corporations, having contributed to numerous projects focused on establishing cross-border supply chains and assimilating the standards inherent in such initiatives.
He comprehends the core principles of effective Purchasing Strategy and has demonstrated this understanding through various implementations, including an innovative approach, inter alia, to procuring a significant "commodity" valued at approximately €200 million annually. This initiative resulted in substantial yearly savings of around €7 million for the company.
Tomasz has recognized the significance of collaboration within a motivated team, as evidenced by his identification and advancement of several individuals for promotion. Many of these individuals continue to hold pivotal roles within their respective companies, highlighting the enduring impact of his leadership.
He has learned valuable lessons from past challenges, including an instance where he procured an excessive quantity of goods. This experience led to the disposal of several hundred pallets of inventory that expired before they could be sold.
Moreover, Tomasz understands the importance of a holistic approach to business. He initiated a transformation in the management philosophy of the quality system, transitioning it from a cumbersome "red tape monster" that generated numerous superfluous documents and stifled employee creativity, into a dynamic organism. This revised approach involves users from diverse departments, fostering proactive problem prevention and empowering the organization to confront genuine challenges head-on.
