DDBRIX.  Business Game.
Introduction and Workshops on DDMRP

The training is focused on presenting in an accessible form issues related to the implementation of DDMRP method. Thanks to playing with Lego blocks, we are closer to understand what it means to be “demand driven” and what is the difference between “forecast driven” and “demand driven”.

DDBRIX TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

  • The length of priority list that you need to review daily is quite irritating ?
  • Do you want to experience how DDMRP supports stabilize production and reduce stress inf your team?
  • Do you want to learn how DDMRP can support material management and information flow?
  •  Would you like to see if a significant increase of a customer service level can be achieved?
  • If it’s possible to reduce inventory level on this occasion?
  • Is it possible to reduce material shortages and reduce customer delivery lead time ?
  • Want to learn supply chain management during the game and have some fun?
  • Do you want to know the latest planning and prioritization rules promoted by DDMPR?
  • Would you like to know how DDMRP buffers work?
  • There is no time to manage master data, because you are in „fire-fighting” mode?
  • Want to know the importance of flow for your business?
  • You are a professional in supply chain, operations or planning management? Or are you a student curious about the new approach?

If you are considering implementing DDMRP in your organization, want to optimize it or you want to take care of inventory management in your company, DDBRIX training will be a good start on this path.
During the training we focus on presenting of DDMRP concept and encouraging for deeper understanding in an easily digestible form. We present participants selected DDMRP issues to enable them to get to know the concept, but not become a specialist. DDBRIX training does not aspire to provide full knowledge of DDMRP – it’s rather intended to encourage participants to become interested in this topic.

We start with theoretical introduction, where we discuss among other thing , Plossl’s Law about the role of flow in a company .
We describe today’s VUCA World and its impact on the material and information flow management .
We analyze how the classic MRP-based management fit to today’s New Reality.
We discuss an inventory distribution and introducing the concept of Bi-Modal distribution and inventory oscillation that occurs on daily basics.
We emphasize the importance of Relevant Information for effective supply chain management.
We discuss sources of demand and supply volatility and their impact on inventory planning stability with particular attention to the “Bullwhip-effect”

We define what the Demand Driven MRP is, we present its five components and discuss their role in DDMRP inventory management.
We explain the concept of Net Flow and define the functionality of the buffer in flow control of materials and goods. We simulate product flow control using a buffer working „to the rhytm” of DDMRP.

We play – in several rounds of business game which we comparing the effects of our actions in accordance with the classic „pushing” MRP using DDMPR method. During the game, we channge positions and we are able to learn more about meaning DDMRP for all departments (Planning, Sales, Quality Control, Production and Purchasing).

In summary we observe the results, analyse and discuss and present further steps on the way to deeper understanding of DDMRP: Demand Driven Operational Model and Demad Driven Adaptive Enterprise Model. Part of the summary is dedicated to biref information on best practices during the implementation of DDMRP.
